CAST-IRON UNIT HEATER

Air-Therm supplies the industry's most rugged cast iron steam units. these units can handle highly corrosive atmospheres, higher steam pressures and are designed for high pressurecleaning. If your plant is replacing it's unit heaters every 2 or 3 winters, then it is time to step up to contact Air-Therm Inc.

Designed for

  • Resist External & Internal Corrosion (Air-Therm Inc.)
  • Constructed to Withstand High Steam Pressure (Air-Therm Inc.)
  • Assure Maximum Heating Efficiency at Minimum Heating Cost (Air-Therm Inc.)
  • Minimum Maintenance Expense in Years of Operation (Air-Therm Inc.)

Cast-iron fin sections and headers are extremely corrosion resistant.

Years of minimum maintenance service can offset many times over the lower initial cost of thin wall copper, aluminium or steel tube type heaters.

Specifications

PRESSURES

  • Unit Heaters are designed for operation on 250 PSIG steam.
  • Standard units are furnised for steam pressures up of 160 PSI, 450 F.
  • Stress relieved sections are furnished for steam pressures above 160 PSIG up to 250 PSIG and steam temperatures above 250 F, up to 650 F.
  • All heaters are factory tested at 500 PSI hydrostatic pressure after assembly.
  • MAINTENANCE

  • Under normal circumstances, handling clean air, the system will require cleaning only about once a year.
  • The fan and system should be checked at regular intervals to detect any unusual accumulation.
  • Regular inspection should be made to detect any indication of weakening because of corrosion, erosion or metal fatique.
  • PIPING

  • All steam supply lines should be insulated.
  • All supply pipes to heters to be sized according to capacity in pounds steam pe hour at stated value of steam pressure and entering air.
  • Provide pitch in all pipes lines in direction of flow of steam and condensate return.
  • All steam suplies to be taken off top os steam main or at 45 degree, returns also to be in at top or at 45 degree.
